itsajackal.tumblr.com Q: Is your tumblr for art or is it a personal blog as well?A: its my personal art. dont post anything of anyone else unless i’m supporting a friend’s endeavor.Q: How often do you post art?A: i try to post at least one drawing a day. i use tumblr as one of many motivators to draw and be productive.Q: Do you post your drawing process or only finished works?A: just the finished work. i never liked seeing the process in drawings so i dont post it. i’ve been asked to show how i do my drawings but i’m to lazy for that. plus i’m a horrible teacher and an alright artist so wouldnt be doing anyone any favores.Q: What types of mediums do you use?A: for drawing i use a mechanical pencil .3mm, scan the drawing in photoshop and then darken and add shadows while i’m there. for color i mainly use water color and some acrylic. havent painted in oils in years. but i plan on it.Q: Describe your art style.A: i do portraits. try to capture candid moments as well as try to do the normal artsy thing.  its hard describing something about yourself with out sounding full of yourself. so i’ll just tell you who influences me.  patrick nagel, andrew wyeth(“the helga pictures” is my bible) kent williams, phil hale, james jean, sam webber, and the is all, be all, egon schiele(but what artist wont say egon schiele?)Q: Do you have any additional comments?A: i draw cause it keeps me sane. its my zen. i shut off the world, shut off my brain, and create my own world.
