Q: Is your Tumblr for art or is it a personal blog as well?
A: Well this is a tricky one; occasionally I will post something of my life on my blog (for example pictures from my Lookbook.nu account) but then I fear that my followers are following me for my art and not my clothes so I’m never sure if I should keep my blog just art, or incorporate my personal life as well.
Q: How often do you post art?
A: As often as I possibly can. I’m still a secondary school student so sometimes I find it hard to post art often. It could be a few days before I post again but sometimes it’s only a matter of hours.
Q: Do you post your drawing process or only finished works?
A: Only finished works. I have been tempted in the past to post a picture of the progress of my art but then I decide not to. On occasion though, I will post a picture of my progress - but only for expressed reasons.
Q: What types of mediums do you use?
A: Anything and everything. From watercolours right through to collage. I don’t see why I should limit myself to a few mediums.
Q: Describe your art style.
A: Here’s the thing, I don’t really have a style. For ages I have been trying to develop my style (and that’s exactly what it takes - ages). I look at artists and I can see their benefits from having their own style, but then I think “I’m only young, I like my versatility”. I have a liftetime to develop my style until I’m recognisable. One thing about my style though, is that I love to draw weird things. I often take everyday objects/animals and weirdify them.
Q: Do you have any additional comments?
A: Advice to teenagers trying to start an art blog: Take your time, post when you can but don’t pressure yourself into posting. If you’re worried about your artistic style, don’t be. Your artistic style will come with time. And like everything (including art) practise makes perfect! ♥
